DESCRIPTION: This is a very complete tour during which the most important archaeological centers of the Mayan World are visited. The different ecological systems of our region can also be enjoyed.
Tour available in English and Spanish. Departure every Tuesday. Minimum 02 Pax. Day 1 Airport- Guatemala Arrival to Guatemala City airport and transfer to the Hotel. Lodging. Day 2 Guatemala – Antigua - Chichicastenango Breakfast. Departure toward la Antigua to make a guided visit in ground transportation accompanied by a P.T.P guide, of the city, to know the cathedral, La Merced and San Francisco churches. Continue toward Chichicastenango. Lodging. Day 3 Chichicastenango-Lake Atitlán The morning will be spent at the indigenous market held every Thursday and Sunday. After the market we will depart toward Lake Atitlán. Lodging. Day 4 Lake Atitlán-Santiago-Guatemala Breakfast. A morning boat (Public boat) visit will be made to the Tzutuhil town of Santiago. After returning to Panajachel we will be transported to Guatemala City. Lodging. Day 5 Antigua Breakfast. Free day to do an optional tour to Pacaya volcano or pacific beaches. Day 6 Antigua -Copán Breakfast. Departure from Antigua crossing the border into Honduras and visit to Copán to see the stelae, pyramids, ball courts, burial grounds, etc. All of great archaeological value. Lodging. Day 7 Copán-Quiriguá-Izabal Area Breakfast. Departure from Copán toward the Guatemalan Caribbean. On the road visit of the archaeological site of Quiriguá where some of the best Mundo Maya stelas are found. After the visit, continue to Puerto Barrios, where a boat (Public boat) is taken to Izabal Area an Afro – Caribbean village. Lodging. Day 8 Izabal Area-Rio Dulce - Peten Area Breakfast. Early in the morning a boat trip (Public boat) is made through Río Dulce an exceptional ecological paradise. At the end of the river a bus will be waiting to continue to Peten Area. Lodging. Day 9 Peten Area-Tikal-Peten Area Breakfast. We will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, undoubtedly the best example of classical Mayan culture. At one time, up to 100.000 people lived in Tikal. Presently, its buildings are hiding in the jungle and it is necessary to walk through dense vegetation in order to visit the central plaza, the temple of the Great Jaguar, the lost World or Temple IV. Picnic Lunch in the park. Lodging. Day 10 Peten Area-Yaxchilán-Palenque Breakfast. Departure from Peten Area toward the Usumacinta river where we will board a boat. We will cross the border into Mexico and visit the archaeological site at Yaxchilán. Box Lunch included. Our journey will continue toward Palenque arriving there at mid afternoon. Lodging. Day 11 Palenque - Campeche Breakfast. This site is possibly one of the most suggestive among the Mayan archaeological site. Edification and jungle battle for space which results in beautiful aesthetic effects. After the visit continue to Campeche. Lodging. Day 12 Campeche-Uxmal-Mérida Breakfast. Departure from Campeche toward Uxmal. The architectural style in this zone is the puuc , much more subtle and ornamental than the architecture found at Chichén Itza. Mid afternoon arrival at Mérida, capital of the state of Yucatán, an enchanting colonial city with a local marked accent. Lodging. Day 13 Mérida-Chichén Itza-Cancun Breakfast. Departure toward Chichén Itza. Visits will include El Castillo, the sacred “Cenote” [well], the ball court, etc. Our journey will continue toward Cancun. Lodging. Day 14 Cancun-Airport Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
